Transferring my blog

Hello to all those who visit or stumble upon my “Views on Schools” website.

As some of my readers noticed, as part of my service on the school board in Grosse Pointe, Michigan  I had a successful re-election campaign in the fall of 2010.  Social media and blogging was a major component of my efforts.  I needed a new blog platform with a bit more flexibility than provided by this WordPress.com template site.

I built a new website/blog with the URL www.brendanwalsh.us to which www.prideandprogress.com (our campaign slogan) also linked.  I added a great deal of content to the new site over the course of 2010.

I want to maintain just a single site and the flexibility of the new platform is preferable.  I have transferred all of the entries from Views on School to www.brendanwalsh.us including all the comments.

If you are a Views on Schools regular or subscriber, I wanted  you to know this and hope that you will continue to visit the new site, if you have not done so already.  To be notified of new posts, I am still figuring out the subscribe capability of the new site, but an easy way to do so is to “Like” my Facebook page, accessible here.  I typically announce new posts via Twitter as well, my handle is @brendan_p_walsh .

Generating content on Views on Schools has been a wonderful experience for me.  I learned to use blogging tools and other technology as well as to develop as a writer.  When blogging on the new site, I decided I wanted to blog more frequently and, shall we say, in a more condense fashion.  I know my Views on Schools posts could get a little wordy 😉

Some topics merit more in depth treatment.  The traffic patterns showed some of the more in depth topics got the most traffic.  What has been particularly enjoyable to see is that the articles, despite having been published many months ago are still read regularly by new readers.

So thanks to all of you who have been readers.  I hope you continue to visit the new site.  As always I welcome your feedback.

Brendan
